Forest Health & Invasive Species

Mission and Purpose

The mission of the Western Forest Health and Invasive Species is to ensure healthy forests for today and tomorrow. The purpose of the committee shall be to address threats to the health of western forests on all ownerships and aggressively pursue all possible strategies to limit invasive species. The goal of the Committee is to define healthy forests and describe the important invasive threats and actions which should be taken to limit invasive species and maintain healthy forests over the short and long term.

The Committee exits to serve the Council of Western State Foresters as a subset of the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition. As a WFLC committee, the committee works collaboratively as a state-federal partnership to promote the mission of the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition.
